Salvador Dali spoke to Mike Wallace of “The Mike Wallace Interview” on April 19, 1958. In an occasionally bizarre interview, Dali spoke of his eccentricities, his self-proclaimed artistic genius and the meaning of his paintings, and expressed his opinions on weakness, old age, luxury, spirituality and death.
“My personality is more important than any of these little facets of my activities,” he said. “The painting, the clowning, the showmanship, the technique—everything is only one manner for express the total personality of Dali.”
