Amelia Earhart spoke to the English media a few days after landing on a farm in Ireland to complete her trans-Atlantic flight on May 21, 1932. The interview was released as part of a British Pathé newsreel entitled “Heroine of the Skies.”
Asked whether she was excited to see land, she replied, “I wasn’t exactly excited, because I had expected it momentarily for about an hour. I was very glad to see it however.”
