Michael J. Fox discussed his life with Parkinson’s disease, his book “Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist,” and stem cell research in an April 2009 interview with CNN’s Larry King.
King asked if the difficulty of performing simple tasks such as brushing teeth makes Fox want to stay in bed. Fox replied, “No, absolutely not. It’s actually the opposite. It shakes me out of bed. And then once I’m out of bed, I’m happy to be out of bed. … And then going out to the hallway … and there’s a mirror in my hallway, and as I pass that mirror, I look at it and I say, ‘what are you smiling at?’ And then I realize that it’s because it just gets better from here.”
